The Karvonen Formula is used to determine your target heart rate zone based on your age and resting heart rate. Exercising within your target heart rate zone can help you reach your fitness goals more effectively.

To calculate your resting heart rate, find a quiet place and sit or lie down comfortably. Place two fingers (not your thumb) on your wrist, just below the base of your thumb. Count the number of beats you feel for 15 seconds and then multiply that number by 4. This is your resting heart rate.






Based on your results, aim to exercise within the appropriate heart rate zone for your fitness goals. For example, if you want to improve your cardiovascular endurance, train in the "Aerobic training zone". If you want to burn fat, focus on the "Fat-burning" zone.
